Tips & Tricks for the Kitchen

Above style oven is for the kitchen and as you can see has doors that open to the sides rather than in
the front. The oven is very expensive and is priced in the $5000 to $10,000 range.

If you cook and need an oven consider using a tabletop portable oven instead. Prices vary from $50.00
up to the $100 range.

If you use your standard oven you may want to get a wooden ruler and cut out notches. Look at the
following picture for assistance.

As you can see in the picture the notch cut at the end of the ruler is for pushing the oven rack and the
notch near the end is for pulling the rack towards you.

I am in a power chair do the cooking from it. Another trick I do is put a cutting board on my lap to help
me with transferring hot pots and pans between the sink and the oven.

For help in putting dishes away from the dishwasher I would put a towel down on the counter for the
cups and plates. Unload the dishwasher on the towel and close the dishwasher door. Put the dishes
away that are on the towel. You may have to do this a few times until all dishes are unloaded.
